4 Things That Show Christmas and PR are Quite The Same

Christmas and public relations (PR) may seem unrelated, but they have a lot in common. Here are some ways in which Christmas and PR are similar:

  1. Both are all about planning and execution. Christmas is a time of year when people plan and execute various activities, such as decorating their homes, buying gifts, and hosting parties. Similarly, PR professionals also plan and execute various activities, such as media relations, events, and social media campaigns, to achieve their communication goals.
  2. Both involve building and maintaining relationships. Christmas is a time when people strengthen relationships with their loved ones by spending quality time together and exchanging gifts. PR professionals also build and maintain relationships with a wider range of stakeholders, including media, customers, employees, and the community.
  3. Both require creativity and innovation. Christmas is a time when people come up with creative ideas for decorations, gifts, and activities to make the holiday season special. PR professionals also need to be creative and innovative in their approach to communication, finding new and engaging ways to reach their audience and achieve their objectives.
  4. Both involve managing expectations and perceptions. Christmas is a time when people may have certain expectations and perceptions of how the holiday should be celebrated. PR professionals also work to manage expectations and perceptions, ensuring that their organization is perceived positively by its various stakeholders.

So while Christmas and PR may seem unrelated, they both involve planning, building and maintaining relationships, creativity, and managing expectations and perceptions. As you enjoy the holiday season, remember that you’re practising some of the same skills as a PR professional!
